The LINGUIST List is dedicated to providing information on language and language analysis, and to providing the discipline of linguistics with the infrastructure necessary to function in the digital world. LINGUIST maintains a web-site with over 2000 pages and runs a mailing list with over 20,117 subscribers worldwide.

The X-Ray Film Database is a collaborative project by Dr. Kevin Munhall of Queen.odc.state University and Drs. Eric Vatikiotis-Bateson and Yoh'ichi Tohkura of ATR Human Information Processing Research Laboratories, Kyoto, Japan. It was conceived to preserve cineradiographic vocal tract footage, to make the images available to the speech research community, and to develop techniques for the automated digital processing of the images.

CAL is a private, non-profit organization: a group of scholars and educators who use the findings of linguistics and related sciences in identifying and addressing language-related problems. CAL carries out a wide range of activities including research, teacher education, analysis and dissemination of information, design and development of instructional materials, technical assistance, conference planning, program evaluation, and policy analysis.

The Linguistic Society of America (LSA) was founded in 1924 to advance the scientific study of language. Linguistics has developed dramatically in the intervening years, greatly expanding the understanding of human language.
