Welcome to the Johns Hopkins Department of Neuroscience! A brief perusal of our faculty descriptions reveals the extraordinary breadth and depth of their research. Their excellence is attested by citation analysis, which recently showed that four of the top neuroscientists in the world are at Johns Hopkins, whereas no other institution has more than one. Within Johns Hopkins five of the twelve most cited scientists are neuroscientists. One of the great strengths of Hopkins neuroscience is its depth throughout the institution.
