With the aid of local funding and later extramural funding, a research facility was developed to address three questions: What are the origins of child speech disorders? What are the best ways to assess children with child speech disorders? What are the most effective ways to help children with speech disorders? Aided currently by a series of grants from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), the Phonology Project continues research in each of these areas.
